Current Openings
We currently have openings for the following positions:
- Section Violin
- Section Viola
- Section Cello
- Principal Bass
- Section Bass
- Percussion
If you play a woodwind or brass instrument and would like to be on our sub list, please fill out the personnel form. Depending on the instrumentation of the pieces, we may need more players than our normal amount, so don't be discouraged if we currently do not have an opening for your instrument! Additionally, there may be instances where we will need substitutes for our regular members.
Requirements
- Ability to read music
- Commitment to performing at a high level
- Must be at least in 9th grade
Membership in the OVCO does not require an audition, though musicians would be expected to be proficient enough to perform the literature at a high level in 7 or less rehearsals.
The OVCO does not require membership dues.

High School students interested will need to do a required audition. You should prepare any solo or concerto movement. Details on your audition will be sent to you after your personnel document is submitted and received.
Rehearsals
Sundays from 4:30-6:30 during our September-May season.
Decorah HS Auditorium, Decorah, Iowa.
